In two new investigational studies evaluating the efficacy and tolerability of Merck and Co., Inc. diabetes medicine JANUVIA, JANUVIA significantly improved blood sugar control. One study evaluated JANUVIA as an addition to ongoing insulin therapy, with or without metformin, and the second evaluated JANUVIA in combination with pioglitazone as an initial treatment regimen. Applications to use JANVUIA in these combinations and JANUMET in combination with insulin have been accepted by the FDA and are currently under review.
