Manufacturers to introduce dextromethorphan educational icon
American Pharmacists Association, 06/05/09
The Consumer Healthcare Products Association recently announced plans to introduce a voluntary icon to be included on OTC cough medications containing dextromethorphan. The icon consists of text reading "PARENTS: Learn about teen medicine abuse" and the address of CHPA's drug abuse awareness website www.stopmedicineabuse.org. In a news release, CHPA described the logo as a "mini public service announcement to raise parental awareness and offer a resource—StopMedicineAbuse.org—for more information."
