Erectile dysfunction drug delivery device will return to pharmacies
Urology Times, 05/18/09
Bennett D - The Caverject Impulse Dual Chamber System, a device used to deliver alprostadil for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, will return to pharmacy shelves following a months-long withdrawal. Alprostadil (prostaglandin E1 [PGE1]) is the main ingredient in Caverject. While oral phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE-5) inhibitors have become popular during the last several years, alprostadil injections may be the only option for men who are taking nitrates, which may cause an adverse interaction with PDE-5 inhibitors.
