Lanas A et al. - NSAID use increases the risk of hospitalizations due to complications in the lower gastrointestinal tract. By inhibiting COX-2 or other tumorigenic targets, NSAIDs, especially aspirin or new aspirin derivates, may prevent colon cancer in selected populations.
