Job Description
Our client is the state's sixth largest health system and the tertiary care regional referral center for Western North Carolina and the adjoining region. They are a not-for-profit, independent community hospital system accredited by The Joint Commission. Job Summary:
Responsible for the system-wide coordination of all medication use technology-based processes, including but not limited to: CPOE, e-MAR, unit-based cabinet dispensing, pharmacy-based packaging, dispensing, and compounding robotics, smart pump applications, and pharmacy system infrastructure supporting bar-coded bedside medication administration. Acts as consultant to Nursing and Clinical Informatics departments providing medication information for the development of integrated medication-related system functionalities. Acts as pharmacy representative to Information Technology department for planning and implementation of future enhancements/upgrades and patient care integration hardware and software.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy with 3+ years information technology experience
Preferred Education: A Pharm.D. degree is preferred with residency in Pharmacy Informatics. Masters in BA, HA, or BA in equivalent field for example a BA in Computer Science
Required License: Current licensure to practice pharmacy in any state.
Preferred License: An active license to practice in North Carolina, or eligible to become licensed in North Carolina within 60 days
Required Experience: Previous experience with implementation and/or maintenance support of a hospital pharmacy/patient care computer system. Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access, Outlook
Preferred Experience: 3+ years experience with Cerner Millenium and integration with carousel-based dispensing and unit-based cabinets. Demonstrable experience in SQL/CCL, SQL Server, Microsoft OneNote and Project.

The Compensation
Base Salary - $107,500 - $142,500
Benefits - Full
Candidate must have three years of experience in information technology
Must have 3 years of experience with Cerner Millenium
Previous experience with implementation and/or maintenance support of a hospital pharmacy/patient care computer system.
