Wilhelm M et al. - With the introduction of the Beers Criteria, there has been a virtual explosion of literature regarding the inappropriate use of medications in older adults. The Beers Criteria focus on prescription medications, with only a few OTC medications being addressed. However, this provides little guidance for practitioners when making recommendations with respect to appropriate medications, particularly among many available OTC products.
