The Task Force on Community Preventive Services devised these guidelines by systematically searching multiple databases, and reviewing reference lists on interventions done to reduce motor vehicle occupant injury as well as consulting with experts in the field. Their recommendations are designed to increase the use of child safety seats, to increase the use of safety belts, and to reduce alcohol-impaired driving.
