In 2008, a sharp increase of children diagnosed as urinary calculi complicated by acute obstructive renal failure was noticed in Beijing Children’s Hospital in China. As the biggest children’s hospital in China, we recorded the clinical presentation, ultrasound findings, treatments and the effects of all the admitted patients carefully. We analysed the composition of the stones and had new findings. What’s more, we did 12 to 17 months follow up and further observations is still undergoing now.
