Fetal–MUD caudal to the MMC did not increase with gestational age, whereas fetal–MUD in controls and cranial to the MMC increased with gestational age. In 5 of 6 patients assessed, comparison between pre– and postnatal MUD and/or muscle histology indicated consistent findings.
