Abdelnour A et al. – Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 3 is an important pathogen in Costa Rican children with otitis media, especially in children older than 24 months of age. Most serotype 3 isolates were susceptible to penicillin, cephalosporins, macrolides and quinolones.
