Carnevale FC et al. – The authors report the case of a 9–year–old boy with portal hypertension, due to Budd–Chiari syndrome, and retrohepatic inferior vena cava thrombosis, submitted to a transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt by connecting the suprahepatic segment of the inferior vena cava directly to the portal vein.
