Maahs DM et al. - The authors tested the association of adiponectin/leptin ratio with diabetes type after adjusting for multiple factors in 1156 youths with newly diagnosed diabetes in the SEARCH study. Although adiponectin/leptin ratio is associated with diabetes type in youth, it is due to differences in adiponectin, but not leptin levels.
