Predicting the efficacy of convection warming in anaesthetized children
British Journal of Anesthesia, 06/19/09
Stanger R et al. - Although the effectiveness of this warming technique is influenced by patient/procedure characteristics, these do not predict normothermia. Effectiveness is independent of simple thermal measures. Previously described measures of vasoconstriction are not valid in children. To minimize the risk of hyperthermia, continuous measurement of Tcore during convection heating is recommended.
