Radical External Beam Radiotherapy With Intraluminal High Rate Dose Brachytherapy In Patients With Carcinoma Esophagus
The Internet Journal of Gastroenterology, 11/09/09
Chauhan AK et al. – The advantage of Brachytherapy over EBRT is Brachytherapy as compared to external beam radiation therapy offers rapid tumour reduction of luminal aspect thus rapidly restoring the swallowing function and at the same time delivers relatively low dose to surrounding normal tissues particularly lung, spinal cord and adjacent normal oesophageal mucosa from radiation while same time providing focal dose escalation.
