Comparison of prostate cancer tumor volume and percent cancer in prediction of biochemical recurrence and cancer specific survival
Urologic Oncology: Seminars and Original Investigations, 10/26/09
Chung BI et al. – Tumor volume and percent cancer are independent predictors of recurrence after radical prostatectomy. However, in our series, tumor volume predicted cancer specific death better than percent cancer. Therefore, accurate determination of tumor volume, along with other accepted pathologic indices, is sufficient and preferred over percent cancer for prognostication after radical prostatectomy.
