Singh D et al. – This study demonstrates that unlike wild type alpha A–crystallin, G98R alpha A–crystallin and its mixed oligomers with wild type protein are vulnerable to heavy metal ions. This study provides insight into aspects of how environmental factors could augment phenotype in certain genetically predisposed conditions.
