Taylor B – The article will review fitting and selection considerations surrounding trainability in modern hearing aids. Many modern hearing aids allow the end user to train the hearing aid so that certain acoustic parameters can be tailored to the individual’s listening preferences. Although each manufacturer implements trainable algorithms in a slightly different manner, all trainable hearing aids are designed to allow the patient to train the response of the hearing aid to a desired setting over a period of time.
