Kuhfahl KJ et al. – The authors describe a case of a scapular abscess, osteomyelitis, septic emboli, and occlusive venous thrombosis secondary to community–acquired methicillin–resistant Staphylococcus aureus in an otherwise healthy pediatric patient. Clinicians need to be aware of the severity of the illness that can be caused by community–acquired methicillin–resistant Staphylococcus aureus infections and complications including venous thrombosis and septic emboli.
