Human Papillomavirus Vaccine: The Current Picture
The Female Patient, 10/07/09
Rome ES et al. – The HPV vaccine protects against 70% of all cervical cancers and 90% of genital warts, with vaccination currently recommended for all females ages 9 to 26. Primary prevention with vaccination is the best way to prevent disease. The costs of missed days of school/work, emotional duress of experiencing an STI, and HPV treatment remain to be factored into the cost–benefit analyses.
