Thyroid hormone receptor beta mediates thyroid hormone effects on bone remodeling and bone mass
Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, 08/26/2011
Monfoulet LE et al. – The data suggest that thyroid hormone receptor (TR)beta receptors mediate the acute effects produced by transient changes of thyroid hormone (TH) concentrations on bone remodeling, whereas TRalpha receptors mediate long–term effects of chronic alterations of TH metabolism. These data shed new light on the respective roles of TRs in the control of bone metabolism by TH.
