Nefopam + paracetamol effective post-operative analgesia

As published in Minerva Medica, the effective post-operative analgesic doses of nefopan, paracetamol, and combined nefopam + paracetamol were determined. The study involved 90 adults who underwent tonsillectomies. The effective doses of nefopam, paracetamol, and combined nefopam + paracetamol were 21.7 mg, 628 mg, and 8.9 mg + 265 mg (synergistic), respectively.

Topical ketamine and tramadol reduce post-operative tonsillectomy pain

As published in Pediatric Anesthesia, the application of topical ketamine (20 mg) or tramadol (0.8 ml) to the tonsillar fossae for 5 min following tonsillectomy in children (n=60) reduced pain and the requirement for rescue analgesia.
