Ashford RU et al. – Bone is the third most common site of metastatic disease. The management of skeletal metastases has continued to evolve over recent years. There have been developments particularly in the oncologic field. This, in conjunction with a multi–disciplinary approach, has resulted in prolonged survival. Disease prognosis is an important consideration in the management of all patients with appendicular skeletal metastases.
