Halm JA et al. – Early recognition and protection might reduce the incidence of superficial peroneal nerve injuries during open reduction and internal fixation of lateral malleolus fractures. The authors describe 2 surgically treated ankle fractures with superficial peroneal nerve branch (intermediate cutaneous dorsal nerve) involvement and review the current literature.
