Double-Bundle Versus Single-Bundle Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction: A Prospective Randomized Study With 5-Year Results
The American Journal of Sports Medicine, 07/05/2012
Clinical Article
Suomalainen P et al. – The double–bundle surgery resulted in significantly fewer graft failures and subsequent revision anterior cruciate ligament surgery than the single–bundle surgeries during the 5–year follow–up. Knee stability and osteoarthritis rates were similar at 5 years. In view of the size of the groups, some caution should be exercised when interpreting the lack of difference in the secondary outcomes.
