The Scaphotrapezial Joint After Partial Trapeziectomy for Trapeziometacarpal Joint Arthritis: Long-term Follow-up
The Journal of Hand Surgery, 05/25/2012
Noland SS et al. – Partial trapeziectomy for trapeziometacarpal (TM) joint arthritis provides long–lasting relief of symptoms in patients with radiographically abnormal but clinically insignificant scaphotrapezial (ST) joint degeneration. Satisfaction is equivalent to other published series. The radiographic appearance of the ST joint did not correlate with symptoms at this joint. Unless the patient has symptomatic ST joint arthritis, the ST joint may be retained.
