Hip fracture surgery and clopidogrel: is it safe to operate without delay

This is the largest study to the authors' knowledge on the bleeding risk of clopidogrel in the orthopaedic trauma setting. Undertaking hip fracture surgery within 24 hours on elderly patients who were taking clopidogrel was not associated with increased risk of post–operative complications.
