Bartels EM et al. – Diacerein may be an alternative therapy for OA for patients who cannot take paracetamol or NSAIDs because of adverse effects or lack of benefit. However, it is associated with increased risk of diarrhoea, and the symptomatic benefit after 6 months remains unknown.
