Chondrosarcoma of the hand: radiologic evaluation at early stage

Hamada K et al. – The authors present a case of chondrosarcoma originating from the second metacarpal bone, whose radiograph taken by chance 2 years prior to his admission revealed the initial manifestation of the tumor. Radiological examination showed erosion of the shaft of the second metacarpal bone with formation of an extraosseous soft tissue mass. Retrospectively, the patient underwent radiological assessment of the right hand 2 years prior to this admission.
