Geusens P et al. – Bisphosphonates, in particular, consistently demonstrate a positive effect on bone mineral density, and some data also indicate decreased rates of vertebral fractures. For men with severe osteoporosis, treatment with the anabolic agent teriparatide might be an effective option.
