Hamilton WG et al. - Despite excellent results, failure of osseointegration does occur in femoral revisions performed with extensively porous-coated stems. At a mean follow-up of 9.8 years, none of the cementless stems had required another revision (100% survivorship), and 12 (92%) of the 13 stems were bone ingrown based on radiographic examination.
