Paik D et al. – BNAs function as both formaldehyde and nitrite donors under physiologic conditions to cross–link collagenous tissue. Higher order BNAs are more effective than mono nitroalcohols raising the possibility of using these agents for therapeutic corneoscleral crosslinking.
