Kitaoka Y et al. – The results suggest that axonal nicotinamide mononucleotide adenylyltransferase 1 and NAD declines are associated with TNF–induced optic nerve axonal degeneration and that axonal protection of NAD may be related to its inhibitory effect on microglial activation.
