Mitochondrial proteomics in experimental autoimmune uveitis oxidative stress
Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, 07/06/09
Saraswathy S et al. - The presence of mitochondrial-specific oxidative stress-related proteins in early EAU retina along with downregulation of ATP synthase provides early evidence of the stress-related retinal damage. The presence of high levels of alpha A and beta B2 crystallin in the mitochondria may prevent cell death during early EAU.
