Tumor development is often driven by overactive kinases and these tumor promoters turn out to be good targets for treatment. Using kinase assays we could distinguish cell lines based on Src kinase activity and this correlated with efficacy of Src kinase inhibitor treatment. Measuring kinase activity in tumor specimen will assist to select the optimal therapy from a whole range of kinase inhibitors that are currently on the market.
