Pediatric Rheumatology for the Adult Rheumatologist II: Uveitis in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Journal of Clinical Rheumatology (JCR), 09/13/07
Wright, T., et al. - Uveitis is an important and frequent extra-articular manifestation of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) that may result in poor visual outcome. Without early detection and aggressive therapy, the uveitis and topical steroid therapy used to treat it may result in cataracts, glaucoma, and even blindness. Fortunately, a variety of systemically administered anti-inflammatory agents have been found useful for the treatment of JIA associated uveitis
