International Journal of Eating Disorders, 03/15/2012
Haruta I et al. – A 36–year–old Japanese woman with anorexia nervosa (AN) was admitted to the authors' department because of severe emaciation. The authors began probiotic and prebiotic treatment for bacterial translocation. The authors think that the prevention of sepsis via bacterial translocation is an important aspect of care for patients with severe AN in addition to the prevention of refeeding syndrome.
