Outcome following surgery for intracranial meningiomas in the aging
Acta Neurologica Scandinavica, 07/16/2012
Konglund A et al. – In the series, the authors found that meningioma surgery in the aging patient carries a higher risk of mortality and morbidity compared to intracranial tumor surgery in general. The findings indicate, however, that the survivors have improved cognitive function and acceptable QoL, and the authors did not see any significant decrease in the proportion of independent patients according to the KPS.
