Ramos CG et al. – This is the first report in Latin America on the use of prostate Cancer Gene 3 (PCA3) in diagnosing prostate cancer. The results are comparable to those reported in other populations in the literature, demonstrating the reproducibility of the test. PCA3 score was highly specific and the authors specially recommend its use in patients with persistent elevated prostate specific antigen and prior negative biopsies.
