Computed tomography in the evaluation for transcatheter aortic valve implantation Full Text
Cardiovascular Diagnosis and Therapy,
Schoenhagen P et al. – This article describes the role of multi–detector row computed tomography (MDCT) for detailed assessment of the aortic valve, aortic root, and iliac arteries in the context of TAVI. Multidetector computed tomography (CT) has assumed an increasingly important, complementary role before and after TAVI, and provides detailed anatomic assessment of the aortic root structures and iliofemoral access, adding to the information obtained with echocardiography and angiography. Therefore routine screening with multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) is utilized by several leading groups.
