Springborg H and Istre O et al. – This study describes introduction of single port laparoscopic surgery in a private hospital in Denmark, in which 40 patients have been treated for benign gynecologic conditions. Laparo–endoscopic single site surgery (LESS) is a promising new method in minimally invasive surgery. Theoretically, cosmetic outcomes, postoperative pain and complication rates could be improved with use of single site surgery. However, its large–scale adoption awaits results of prospective randomized controlled studies confirming potential benefits.
