Newell D et al. – The results suggest that the quantitative diagnostic features can be used for developing automated breast CAD for mass lesions to achieve a high diagnostic performance, but more advanced algorithms are needed for diagnosis of lesions presenting as non–mass–like enhancement.

The current commercially-available CAD systems for breast MRI only display information for radiologists to make diagnosis. There is a great potential for the CAD systems to provide diagnostic impression. The research as shown in this work may help to speed up the development in this area, to make the breast MRI "CAD" system similar to mammography CAD to provide intellectual diagnostic information.
