Behery MME et al. – LD isoenzyme profile of uterine fluid could be added as a marker for endometrial cancer in postmenopausal women with vaginal bleeding and endometrial thickness >5 mm on transvaginal ultrasound. Uterine fluid sampling is easy, highly reliable, minimally invasive, with high patient compliance, and can be performed as an office procedure.

LD isoenzyme analysis could be used as a second step after TVS at a cut off point 5mm that proved to be highly reliable. The use of these two methods can reduce the need for curettage and hysteroscopy .The effect of uterine fluid collection at TVS on LD isoenzyme activity profile will be the subject of our future research to widely evaluate on a large scale its role in routine clinical practice for diagnosis of endometrial cancer .
