Lee CL et al. – The authors' results support the use of genome–based expression profiling as a commonplace platform for diagnostic tests of POP.

These results are very preliminary and further studies are needed to substantiate the clinical utility of these methods. However, our study offer the basis for a genetic screening tool for women at risk of developing POP, as well as future treatments for prevention of POP.
