Adam GK et al. – There were 45 cases of eclampsia in 8,894 deliveries (5/1,000). Some 62% of first convulsions occurred antepartum, 15.5% occurred intrapartum, and the rest (11.1%) occurred postpartum. Ten patients died and there were 16 (35.5%) perinatal deaths; eight of these were stillbirths and eight were early neonatal deaths.
