Adrada B et al. - In a study to describe the clinical, imaging, and histopathologic findings of invasive micropapillary carcinoma of the breast, it was concluded that the imaging characteristics of invasive micropapillary carcinoma are highly suggestive of malignancy. This tumor may necessitate aggressive management.
Methods- This study was done to describe the clinical, imaging, and histopathologic findings of invasive micropapillary carcinoma of the breast.
- The lesion is a high-density irregular mass with indistinct margins associated with microcalcifications on mammograms; a solid irregular hypoechoic mass with indistinct margins and frequent axillary nodal involvement on sonograms; and a multifocal mass on MR images.
