Both parathyroid adenoma and pre-eclampsia are conditions with somewhat unknown ethiology and pathophysiology. In our general serach for explanations of mechanisms in either disease, the present epidemiological view hints that vitamin D deficinecy may be a factor to look further into. Regardless of whether this hypothesis will become supported we have found a link between these diseases, not previously known.
