Tissue Glue and Iatrogenic Eyelid Gluing in Children
Pediatric Emergency Care, 08/09/2012
Coutts SJ et al. – Tissue glues are commonly used in emergency departments to treat straight–edged lacerations and are advocated for use on the face or head. Although application is relatively quick and easy, this can potentially lead to inadvertent eyelid involvement, with potential medicolegal implications. The authors present 2 cases of such eyelid gluing with tissue glue after it was used on children for closure of supraorbital lacerations.
