Lung Volume Recruitment Slows Pulmonary Function Decline in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

McKim DA et al. – The difference, 4.2 percent–predicted a year (95% confidence interval, 3.5–4.9; P<.000), represents an 89% improvement in the annual rate of forced vital capacity (FVC) decline. The rate of FVC decline in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) patients improves dramatically with initiation of regular lung volume recruitment (LVR).
