Fukazawa K et al. – Cirrhotic cardiomyopathy currently is believed to be a multifactorial entity. This communication describes a case of immediate intraoperative recovery of diastolic function following liver transplantation. This suggests that an underlying metabolic inhibition of myocardial metabolism is an important factor in the development of cardiomyopathy in end–stage liver disease.
