'The importance of social structures in individual psychological empowerment and job satisfaction has been established by previous studies. This research study finds that critical social empowerment may be equally, if not more, important in both psychological empowerment and job satisfaction. That is, employees must be involved in decisions that affect their working lives in order to be empowered and feel that their contributions to healthcare are valued'.
